About Us

Meet Callie

Hi, my name is Callie Danysh and I'm 12 years old. I began a service project at the start of the COVID pandemic in March 2020 through a cub scout elective with Scouts BSA. I was 10 years old at the time and nearing the end of 4th grade. My goal was to find a way to honor all our first responders, healthcare professionals, as well as many other local businesses and organizations, as a way to spread kindness and express appreciation for our frontline heroes. I decided to create drawings with inspirational messages on a set of white marker flags and give it to those members of our community. I called it "Flags of Gratitude." With families and businesses struggling, and our frontline and essential workers risking their lives each day, these flags would be a way to brighten their day and spread hope. I wanted them to know how much we're grateful for their hard work and sacrifice. We have already distributed over 2,000 flags and still going strong.
In the summer of 2020, with the help of my mom, we used flags as a way to fundraise for a local organization called Help Morris Now and collected $1,000 to help feed our community in need.

On August 4th, 2021, I was able to fulfill my goal of donating $2,500 to Good Grief (a non-profit organization which helps grieving children and teens). I also raised another $2,500 for St. Hubert's Animal Welfare (which helps homeless and abused animals find a forever home).

The Mixtiles on our website are 8x8 framed photographs of the flags I've made for others. 100% profits of our Mixtile sales are donated to local charities. Each Mixtile is $25. which includes shipping costs. I also make custom portraits of people and pets that can be made into an 8x8 ($35) or 12x12 ($65) Mixtile which also includes shipping. They make a great gift for any classroom, office, or home. We sincerely appreciate your help, support, and contribution.

Please join Flags of Gratitude on Facebook and Instagram to see all the Flags/Mixtiles given to many deserving heroes. Be sure to also check out all the custom art we've made for others. I am working hard to spread kindness, while giving back through charity.  “One act of kindness can change the world."

Meet Mom

Hi, I'm Andrea Danysh, the proud mom of my young artist who has been trying to spread kindness and positivity to others since the start of the pandemic. Callie's drawings are designed on white marker flags and made into Mixtiles for first responders, local businesses, non-profit organizations, and community volunteers. We have received many requests for custom artwork to pay tribute to both people and pets. Callie's drawings are creative, unique, and used as a way to inspire others to simply brighten their day. Please check out her custom collection and email flagsofgratitude@gmail.com if you'd like one made as a special gift.
